Why You Should Do Styled Shoots
Styled shoots are a huge part of our industry, and something I honestly I had no idea about when I joined!
I took part in my first shoot in May 2021 and I had no clue what I was doing. I arrived way too early because I had FOMO from the Insta stories, I didn’t do my hair or make up very well and I didn’t really know what was going on!
But since then I’ve learnt! I’ve arrived when I’ve been asked to, done my hair & make up beautifully and also just realised that my part is only to sit there, look pretty and play some nice tunes! And in return I’ve received some stunning images!
Styled shoots are ideal for getting content and images for your business but here’s some other reasons you should take part that you might not have considered….
🌹 You can meet other suppliers! If you possibly can, be at the shoot on the day so you can interact with other wedding professionals, most likely in your own area.
🌹 You showcase your expertise! A shoot I did last year had a flower boa which turned out to be pretty impractical (as the florist herself admitted!) but it showed her craftsmanship and amazing abilities to create something stunning.
🌹 You learn how other suppliers work. I’ve done shoots with people who I would love to work with again because I’ve seen them AT work!
Plus - you never know where a shoot will end up…. I’ve had shoots featured in The English Wedding Blog, East Midlands Wedding Magazine and another is due to be published in the next month…!
